Fall 2022 Speaking Engagements

Our Managing Partners were busy this fall, speaking in forums and conferences dedicated to our investment strategy – rural-focused, underserved companies creating quality jobs and shared prosperity in their communities.

Mission-Driven

At the direction of President Biden, the U.S. Department of Commerce has placed great emphasis on its Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), which offers business development and industry-focused services to provide greater access to capital, contracts, and markets. Christine Jones was invited to speak at the MBDA’s National Minority Enterprise Development Week Conference in Washington, DC on a panel moderated by John Moses, Deputy Director of the Office of Investor Education and Advocacy at the SEC.

Regionally Focused

Karin Gregory was an invited participant at a women’s roundtable as part of the PE Summit held in Buffalo, NY.  The summit was hosted by the Upstate Capital Association of New York, a non-profit founded in 2003 to increase access to capital for companies and deal flow for investors across Upstate New York.

Christine Jones was an investor panelist at the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Dealmakers Conference discussing M&A trends in one of our target regions. Led by Bob McCormack, Managing Partner at Murphy McCormack Capital Advisors, Chris was joined by industry executives, Rich Mahler, Managing Director at Accenture, and John Quarmley, Founder and CEO of Highwood USA.

Nationally Focused

Christine Jones also participated in a recent panel discussion at the SuperReturn North America conference. Along with Steve Pierson, Managing Partner at Lovell Minnick Partners and Rick Grinnell, Founder and Managing Partner at Glasswing Ventures, Chris discussed how sector/demographic-focused funds compare with generalist funds across the country.
